Their wedding day was filled with pure joy and celebration! From the gorgeous floral arrangements that Becky did herself to the thoughtful aviator sunglasses for the guests, every detail was planned out perfectly. It felt like an epic fairytale wedding day! Not every bride gets to leave her wedding day in an airplane!!
Two weeks before their wedding day, Becky reached out to me looking for a replacement photographer because hers unfortunately had to back out at the last minute (every bride's worst nightmare!). I was so excited that we had the date available! She shared their wedding website with me and when I read all about their wedding day plans I knew it was going to be such a special and epic wedding.
When we arrived the day of and met Ben and Becky for the first time, we instantly felt like we’d known them for years. If they felt stressed, we couldn’t tell at all! They were so calm and excited. The ceremony took place at the Lake Club Lounge in Lake California on the back patio. It overlooked the lake and was absolutely serene. Capturing Ben’s reaction to seeing his bride walk down the aisle was so special. Had to keep my tears back!
Airplane Travel Wedding Reception
The reception was spectacular! World globes, florals and metal airplane charms decorated the blush satin covered tables. Ben prepared a video for all the guests telling the story of their relationship. He told of how rainbows hold a special place in their relationship and at the end of the video, Ben sang “Rainbow Connection” with Kermit the Frog. It was the sweetest thing ever!
After all the fun reception festivities and delicious Poke bowls, the guests were asked to finish making their paper airplanes, grab their aviator sunglasses, and get ready for the reception hall exit. Guests formed a long line outside the front doors and threw the paper airplanes into the air as Ben and Becky ran through! From here it was off to the airstrip for the takeoff!
Ben’s Cessna Airplane was waiting for them at the Lake California Airstrip. Guests lined the road to watch them takeoff. After snapping some epic portraits of them with the plane and doing the bouquet and garter toss, Ben helped Becky into the airplane. They taxied down the runway then took off into the clouds! The perfect ending to a perfect wedding day!
