Little Bear Creek Ranch Family Mini Session Day
Fall mini sessions during a windstorm!
First time offering back-to-back mini sessions on a specific day and guess what…RAIN! Rain was in the forecast the whole week and I was like oh no… Inside I kept hoping it would change and I became glued to the weather app. BUT it didn’t change. Instead it looked worse and also threw in a thunderstorm watch as well. Yikes! But you know what? Thanks to these beautiful clients of mine that trusted in me, we pivoted, changed locations the day before and MADE IT HAPPEN DESPITE THE STORM!!
The location
Originally the day was planned for the Turtle Bay East Open Space, but knowing that we were facing rain, I knew we needed a location that had both outdoor and indoor options. Thus came my frantic text to Little Bear Creek Ranch, which has now seriously become my favorite venue. The owners are so kind and accommodating! They agreed to let me use their property and big reception barn. So thankful!
When Matt and I left the house, the rain was just pouring and the wind was starting to pick up. The whole drive out to the ranch I was thinking we’d end up inside the barn the whole time. Which was fine but if you’ve ever done a session with me in the past you know I love variety for my clients. Fortunately the rain stopped shortly after we got set up inside the barn. Which was amazing! But then the wind picked up even more and literally crept up to 20+ mph. Goodness! I can’t win for losing right? But because of the wonderful buildings on the property, we had the wrap-around porch of the bridal suite that offered us shelter from the wind in certain spots, the big oak tree that blocked some wind for Chris and Becky, then the front of the big barn was shielded as well. Phew! Variety was accomplished!
And just for giggles, I will post what my hair looked like towards the end of the day! Haha! It was worth it. To all my families that day, thank you so much for trusting me! I appreciate each of you so very much and can’t wait to see you all again soon!!

A Rainy Winter Family Session at the Camden House
We only had one challenge…THE RAIN!! The forecast made it look like we were just going to miss it, but the day of it turned to definite rain. That didn’t stop us though!! We whipped out the clear umbrellas and went ahead with the session anyway. And it was soo worth it!!!
