Downtown Family Portraits | Hunt Family

Meet the Hunt Family

Shasta County Courthouse | Downtown Redding, California

I love trying out new locations! So when Loretta came to me and said, “Hey I really want to have you take our family pictures at the Courthouse in Downtown Redding”, I was like “YES! Let’s do it!”. The Shasta County Courthouse has a beautiful courtyard with palm trees, banana plants, a type of ivy and just a lot of beautiful greenery, flowers, and a really cool staircase! Once we all got there and started the session I immediately fell in love with this spot! Oh and I forgot to mention there’s a clock tower too!

This family is very special to me. We pretty much grew up together! I believe I was 8 years old (if my memory is up to date…Nope, I was 5!) that I met this family. Lynda and I were practically inseparable! We were crazy kids. Haha! I’ll never forget the days of spending the night at their house, staying up super late, creating our own dance routines and just being goofy. And I’ll never forget the dedication and faith that Loretta has. I always know that she’ll be there and that she’ll be praying for me, no matter what. And that means so much to me! I appreciate the friendship we have!

You may remember the newborn portraits of Cody with the American flag in the background? (If not, CLICK HERE) He’s growing so fast! He did so well in this session. I absolutely love his smile! He scrunches up his nose and it just makes everyone laugh. It’s so cute. I also wish everyone could hear his laugh, it’s so precious! And contagious! :)

You’re going to see some shots of a deep purple bloom on what looks like a dead bush. This bush is special to Loretta and her family. They’ve been through hard times and every time they had to frequent the courthouse that bush would be in bloom. And seeing that beautiful blooming bush would give comfort to Loretta. After we planned this shoot, she drove by and her heart sank because that bush appeared to be dead. But after we arrived she went over to look closer at it and it’s not dead! Instead, there were a few buds and one bloom! Just proves that even when life is tough and we feel hopeless or “dead”, God can bring life back to you! If you’ll let Him, of course. :)

Love you all! -Jen

P.S. You can watch the behind the scenes footage here!

Cody is so adorable!!!

Here’s the bush Loretta thought might be dead, but it’s not! It’s getting ready to bloom!

Jordan is so good at the model face! Haha! Literally just minutes before this shot he was laughing hysterically. I don’t know how he did that transition sooo well!!!
