A Snowy Adventure
The Peterson Family Adventures in O.T.
This day was absolutely amazing! We all decided to take a drive up to the snow and check out some cool spots for photos and just have fun together as a family. We drove up past Viola and past the entrance to Lassen National Park then took an old Forest Service road with O.T. (that’s short for Old Timer, our truck!). We put O.T. in 4x4 mode and took off! We explored and explored! Stopped, played in the snow, sledded when we found a hill, and I was just snapping away!
We went so far back on this service road that we eventually got O.T. stuck in the deep snow! So then we had to kinda shovel our way out of it. But the VIEW from that road was AMAZING! I could just visualize a sweet engaged couple at sunset in that spot! Just might have to try that out in the near future…
My sweet friend Ashley bought me one of those Glass Photography balls and I sure had fun with that up in the snow! I also really got to test out my new Macro lens and I am in love with it! Most of the images you’ll see in the post were taken with my 105mm Macro. I am on the line of whether it’s even better than my 85mm or not… I will decide on the next couple of shoots. Haha!
We brought ourselves a packed lunch of PB&J sandwiches and snacks. We ate lunch up there and just really enjoyed ourselves! I handed my camera off to Emily and she captured some awesome pictures of Matt and me. I’m so proud of her! She’s a photographer in the making which makes my heart swell! :)
The weather was perfect! Sunshine streaming through the pine trees, snow glistening like glitter sprinkled everywhere, peaceful stillness since we were so far away from the roads and we also saw a lot of fun deer tracks and even bear tracks! We almost didn’t want to come back, haha! But we eventually made our way back home and ended it with a yummy pot of chili and garlic bread.
I hope you are enjoying your winter season as we are!
Love, Jen
