Cara + Brad | Engaged!

A Rainy Engagement Session

Turtle Bay Botanical Gardens | Redding, California

Cara and Brad’s engagement session was proof that it is possible to photograph in the RAIN! I woke up the morning of their session and thought “oh no…” when I checked the weather. I monitored the weather app all day and the rain percentage kept getting higher and higher. Cara and Brad travelled up from Davis so there was no turning back. So we WENT FOR IT! And oh my gosh, these two were such troopers and such a joy to be around! We used the clear umbrellas and every break in the rain we threw them down and got some shots without them. Some shots you can’t even tell it was raining!! :) Turtle Bay Botanical Gardens worked so well for the location. The mature trees helped shield the wind which was great!

Cara and Brad met during medical school orientation in 2018. Both of them are graduating in May and starting their residencies at UC Davis in June! Brad proposed at sunset on the beach in Carlsbad in front of Cara’s family during their annual beach trip. Cara was completely shocked and overwhelmed with joy!

I just gotta take a moment to talk about Cara’s gorgeous dress! Blush pink (which is her favorite color) strapless dress that has an angle wrap in the front. She looked great! I was also so impressed that her hair and makeup held up through the rain PERFECTLY!

Cara and Brad - Thank you so much for choosing us as your wedding photographers! We are so excited and honored to photograph your special day. :)
