Western Branding Session with Chad Bushnell at Gover Ranch

Nothing makes a photographer happier than to get called back to do another branding session with a past client! So, as you can imagine, I was super excited to get an email from our local Country Star Singer, Chad Bushnell

I’ve known Chad for…goodness, at least 10 years now? Time just flies! I’ve helped him with numerous design projects back when I was working for Walker Printing down in Red Bluff, California. It has been so fun watching him grow in the music industry! He’s done so incredibly well and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. His family are some of the sweetest people you’d ever meet! And I had the honor of meeting his beautiful wife at this session!! She is such a gem!

Western Branding Session

Being a country singer, naturally the session is going to promote anything and everything country! At the last session, we shot at the Redding Rodeo grounds (You can see that blog post HERE). So this time, Gover Ranch was so gracious to let us use their beautiful ranch! They have a gorgeous white barn with black painted doors, white fencing with big wagon wheels, a big open pasture with vintage farming equipment, and a corrugated metal building with an old western town feel. It was the perfect place to get a variety of western themed shots!

We started out with the white fencing and Chad’s electric guitar. Then moved into a more vintage old west theme with Chad’s epic western shirt he picked up in Nashville, TN. His latest single “Whiskey to Work” made its way into some of the shots by using a Alley 6 Rye Whiskey Bottle! The next set of images were staged in front of the white barn and portrayed a western street performer vibe. These were some of my favorites! OK actually, all of them were my favorite, but this setup was super fun to do!

Once we got through those three setups, the light dipped low enough to use the big open field! Chad changed back into the green button-up western shirt and with his Breedlove guitar we captured some amazing sunset shots in that field! I wish I had a behind the scenes shot, because Matt had to help me up onto some electrical boxes to get these shots! HAHA! It was hilarious trying to get up there.

We ended the session at the front section of the white barn with the American flag and Chad’s special outfit for an upcoming Tribute show. I’ll let you guess who he’s tributing. 🙂 (comment below, or shoot me a message) We had such a great time!!
