Shabby Chic to Contemporary

Ceramic Designs by Ron Green | Redding, California

Have you ever looked up the different interior design styles around the world? I did not realize there were so many! Art Moderne, Beach House, Commonwealth, Contemporary, Country, Farmhouse, French Provincial, Gothic, Modern, Parisian, Regal, Shabby Chic, Urban, Victorian, Zen…that’s just to name a few! In looking through the whole list with examples, I’d have to say the majority of styles that I see here in the North State of California would ere towards these styles: Contemporary, Country, Farmhouse, Shabby Chic, and Modern. (If you’d like to see the whole list I looked at, CLICK HERE)

There were definitely some Shabby Chic and Contemporary designs with this set of homes we photographed recently! Beautiful granite slabs along with unique tile layouts, like the herringbone layout of subway tiles behind the stovetop (image above and further below). All the tile and stonework were completed by Ceramic Designs located here in Redding, California. They do such amazing work! It’s always an honor getting to photograph their completed projects. If you need guidance with your home remodels, I highly recommend giving them a call! They're extremely helpful and can walk you through the process. They also have a huge showroom room and granite warehouse where you can browse through hundreds of options!

So I’m curious, what design style would you say your home is? Tell me in the comments at the bottom of this page! I would say my home decor style is a blend of southwest/western/boho/shabby chic. Would that be called “SouthWestBoChic”? Hmm…might be onto something! Haha!!
