Our Family Portraits 2019
Glowy Sunset at Turtle Bay
I certainly try to be a good role model by having our own family pictures taken at least once per year, if not more! And a lot of the times I just pull out the tripod, set a timer, and run back and forth after each shot to see if everyone was looking, not blinking, etc. Which can become quite a headache, even if it’s a great workout! Haha! So this time, I hired someone to do them for me! So much easier!
Wow, time sure does fly by. Each day that passes I am watching my kiddos grow up faster and faster. And I can’t stop it. Seemed like just yesterday they were just babies! And now they have such personalities and intellect! It makes me feel pretty old. But it’s also the most fulfilling and rewarding thing ever!
Probably most of you know our story, and for those that don’t…what you see here is a beautifully blended family that God put together out of completely shattered pieces. While I don’t pretend to understand the reasons behind certain events in our life, I do know this, God’s got it all under control and He allows us to go through things to make us better people, to give us better things in life, to give us a better understanding of what others are going through so we, in turn, can help others. It’s a beautiful thing!
So, what have we been up to this year? Lots of stuff! We took a trip up to Depoe Bay, Oregon earlier this year, did our yearly trip to Ventura for our church Family Camp, went to Washington for my grandparents 35th Wedding Anniversary…all four kiddos have lost at least two teeth apiece, Matt built an amazing gate for the RV access area that’s remote-controlled, and we also finally agreed on an interior house paint color (the latest project that we’ll be working on over the winter, yay!). We sure know how to keep ourselves busy! I also have gone on a complete restructure of my eating habits and physical activity. That has been quite the transition, but every so rewarding! I feel so much better and healthier! To date, I’ve lost 16lbs and 5 inches around my waist! I had to go buy new clothes! What a bummer, right?!? Haha!
Our favorite thing to do as a family is to gather together in the living room, turn on our favorite audiobook series (Powder River by Jerry Robbins), and either snuggle together or play card games. This time we spend together is so precious to me! And I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Well, I hope to chat with you soon! Let’s stay in touch!

P.S. Thank you to Holly Kiker for taking these amazing photos for me!!!
