Maranda and Cody’s Wedding | Shasta Weddings | Dreamy Wedding at Shasta Weddings

Maranda and I have known her for about five years, so when she reached out to me to photograph her wedding at Shasta Weddings, I was excited! She used to be a massage therapist in Redding, CA, and her brother-in-law, Aaron, is my chiropractor! Additionally, Aaron, Maranda and myself were involved in a BNI group in our town. Maranda is just super sweet. Matt and I have both used her services before, and she was terrific!

How They Met

Maranda met Cody several years ago, and she moved away to Sacramento. I found out that Maranda and Cody had and awesome opportunity open up and actually moved to Idaho! They own a hardware store called Steelman Hardware. So, they've been running that business over there and doing really well! I’m so excited for them!

When they decided to get married, she called me to take their wedding pictures and I was so honored. It was basically a big family reunion; we got to see Aaron, his family and Maranda’s, and a lot of the BNI members that we all knew together!

Shasta Weddings Venue

They held their wedding at the Shasta Weddings venue in Castella, California. This venue is an hour and a half north of Redding, and it’s a little crazy to get to. Shasta Weddings doesn't have a physical address, so Maranda just told me just the name of the road that it was on. So I put that in my GPS, and it took us to the beginning of Castle Creek Road, but then we had no idea how long we had to drive. It was a good thing we left a little early because it was about 25 more minutes before we reached the venue! But it was worth it! It's way past the Castle Crags State Park area. Once you pull up, you immediately see that it is gorgeous! It is hidden away and tucked in nature, just the way the owners like it! There are eight different buildings there, and they're cabins. They had a meadow where they would set up the ceremony and the archway positioned so the guests could see beautiful mountains behind it.

The Ceremony and Reception at Shasta Weddings

The ceremony was technically a Micro Wedding, but we stayed a little while longer after the ceremony to get family and reception photos. It was super pretty and sunny outside when they said their I-do’s, and it couldn’t have been more memorable!

During the ceremony, Maranda had this unique keychain made that she had pinned on her bouquet. Cody’s father had passed away some time ago, and this trinket was a really special way of remembering him.

The reception was still at Shasta Weddings but on the pathway back towards the main house. It was a gorgeous space, and by the time we got through dinner and things, the sun was setting and filtering through the trees! It seemed that the light told the lovely story of the day as they went along with the reception happenings. When they had their first dance, the light around them was fantastic. There was a super sweet moment when Maranda and her father did their daddy-daughter dance. The DJ played “I loved her first” by Heartland. And I was over there bawling my eyes, trying not to shake the camera while taking their pictures! And let’s not forget about the lovely cake! Maranda’s sister baked it for them, and she did a fantastic job!

On a personal note, we did have our daughter with us for this wedding. She came with us and just hung out and was our little assistant. She got to meet Maranda's daughter, which was great! She also had our GoPro and shot some behind the scenes videos, so we’re excited to see how she did!

Congrats Maranda and Cody, we are so happy for you both! And we are truly honored to have been there celebrating with you!! :)

-Love, Jen & Matt

Art and Savannah’s beach wedding at Crescent Beach CA was absolutely amazing! They were the sweetest couple and some of the most laid back people I’ve ever met. This beach wedding just FITS them and their personality so well! All their family were in town because it was the 4th of July, and they were able to be there to celebrate with Savannah and Art as they tied the knot.

Even with the intermittent rain . . . this wedding day was absolutely stunning! I was so amazed at how laid back Cara & Brad were even when the ceremony had to be delayed a bit due to the rain. They were just so happy to be getting married, it didn’t matter what the weather did! It was a beautiful representation of how marriage is about so much more than just the wedding day!

Wow! What a beautiful wedding day for Makenzie & Jon! From laughter to happy tears, the day was filled with pure joy and happiness. Several speeches at the reception had me in tears with such great wisdom being passed on to them from their elders. It was so sweet! It couldn’t have been a more of a loving, intentional wedding between these two children of God!
