It was right around 100 degrees in Redding, but by the time we reached Lassen National Park the temp had dropped down into the high 70’s! It was perfect weather for this gorgeous summer engagement session at Manzanita Lake!!! And not only was the weather amazing, but so was our sweet couple!

Meet Nicole and Ian

We just love these two! They were so fun to be around and were amazing at learning all the posing que’s that I teach to all my couples. Ian works as a millwright and travels quite a bit as part of his job. Nicole is currently studying accounting and plans to work remotely so she can travel with Ian! And guess what…they’re from Minnesota!!! They decided to have their wedding here in Northern California where it’s closer to their friends and family. And we couldn’t be more honored than getting to photograph their special day. It’s going to be amazing!

We also got to meet Nicole’s mom, Helen! She was so sweet! We all met at the SE parking lot at Manzanita Lake there in Lassen National Park. Helen hikes the trails there on a weekly basis so she started off on her hike while we got started with the engagement session. Manzanita Lake is so beautiful! There’s a creek (Manzanita Creek) that runs into the lake just up a ways from the parking lot. We headed that way and captured some of my favorite shots there by the creek! The light was gorgeous as it glittered in through the pine trees.

Nicole and Ian, we are just so honored to get to be your wedding photographers! Ya’ll were amazing during your engagement session and we can’t wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day!!!

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot and met Elizabeth and Kurt for the first time, I knew they were the perfect fit for us! They were so easy-going and relaxed the whole time! MONTGOMERY CREEK RANCH WEDDING

Ranch Weddings are my favorite! There’s just something about the wide open fields, the big barns, and miles of fencing that make the photos so epic. And the colors Cara chose for their special day were perfect; Blush, Dusty Rose and Silver. Cara even had Dusty Rose chiffon ribbon with frayed edges for the invitation suite! The barn was filled with round tables and decorated with small white lanterns, wood table numbers, and florals done by Floranthropist. Everything was just beautiful!
